Bio

Laura Waltje is a bilingual writer and translator with a particular interest in using documentary poetics to understand feelings of culpability within our own trauma.  She is the co-founder of Second Draft Press and an alumni of Columbia College Chicago’s MFA poetry program. She is currently working on a translation of Ovid’s Metamorphosis, as well as two novels, one collaboratively and one independently, while continuously productively procrastinating by playing with paint. She is also an award winning pie baker.
